| The activities performed by Product Validation Team in TESI can be broadly classified under the following two categories:
1) Product Validation :
The team is responsible for validating releases from all the project groups.
The following sub-activities will be carried out as a part of product validation:

PV Team members will be assigned to a particular project group when the project is kicked-off & the PV team member will understand the project details completely. |
| b) |
PV Team will involve in the review of documents like SRS,SDS,Test Design, Test Plan and so on during different phases of the project. |
| c) |
PV Team will identify the test case scenarios that might have been missed out in the test design/test plan documents & suggest the project group to include the new test cases; Sometimes, PV Team will also prepare the complete test design and test plan which will be reviewed & approved by the project team. |
| d) |
Once the development & internal testing by the project team is completed, PV team receives the formal release from project team for validation. The release for validation will be done as per the protocol defined by PV Team. |
| e) |
PV Team will validate the release package & give the product validation report to the project team. |
| f) |
In case of any bugs/defects identified by PV team, the project team will fix those bugs & release the package again to the PV team for regression testing. PV team will have to ensure that the product is tested thoroughly & is without any defects. The PV team will send the validation report to the project team for regression round also. |
2) Test Automation:
In order to perform the validation efficiently and effectively, PV Team will be doing test automation. This involves the following sub-activities:

Gaining expertise in scripting languages & Test tools - C, Perl, Python, TCL/TK, shell scripting, QAC etc. |
| b) |
Developing test scripts to perform automated testing. |
| c) |
PV Team has also been taking the responsibility of development of test suite as a supporting activity for different project groups. |

| The following are some of the major contributions from PV Team: |
| i) |
PV Team has developed "PCI Express Configuration Verifier program" in 'C' for PCI Express project for CTOD project group. |
| ii) |
PV Team has developed a test framework for Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) project. |

Getting expertise on QAC tool and MISRA standards. This tool improves software maintainability & quality of the product. |

PV Team has also been involved in development of some reusable components (tools) like Toshiba Copyright checking tool, SKLOC calculating tool etc. |
